So, what’s been new with me? A lot, but that’s not important. Planning out some excursions I’d really like to do while I’m in Hungary — I’ll post a more complete itinerary as I figure out what I have the money for. For now, though, the looming issue is my surgery on July 25th.
July 25th — the day that will live in infamy as the day I get all four wisdom teeth extracted from the back of the mouth that is too tiny for the dentist to even get his fingers all the way back into. Peachy. Well, I’ll have an IV, so hopefully I won’t remember a thing.
With that said, I know I’ll probably be a little nutty when I get home after that surgery — it’s at 9:50 in the morning, so I’ll have all day to recover. If I remember (or am conscious enough), I’d like to hop back on here and tell you about the surgery while I’m still a little dopey. Mostly just so I can come back and look at the post a few days later and laugh my head off due to the fact that I’ll probably sound drunk. If you’re doing something you don’t want to do, the best thing to do is to find a way to smile about it, right?
There’s a first time for everything, so in some kind of sadistic way I’m looking forward to the surgery because I don’t know what to expect and it’ll be an adventure. At the same time, I have a pretty intense phobia concerning vomiting (did you know that’s called emetophobia?), and my family history has people who get sick from anesthesia. But you can bet your butt I’m NOT doing the surgery without an IV. Yeah, Novocaine alone just ain’t gonna cut it, I think.
Anyway, in other news, I bought an HDMI cable to connect my laptop to my TV, so hopefully I’ll be able to make use of that during my recovery time to watch movies that I don’t have on DVD (such as My Neighbor Totoro — a dreadful sin on my part, not having that on DVD).
Anyway, I’ll post about how it goes when I can. Unless something really magical and fantastic happens, I probably won’t post again till then. 🙂
