Lake Erie Bicentennial Battle — The Flagship Niagara

For this week during Spring Break, I wanted to take a short hiatus from the Flagship Niagara Diaries to present this small video. On September 2, 2013, More than 10 tall ships (many larger than Niagara herself) will cast off into Put-In-Bay to recreate the historic Battle of Lake Erie in 1813.

Cannons will be fired, and I’m sure you can guess that I myself will be onboard to help in the battle that commemorates the 200th anniversary of Oliver Hazard Perry’s victory.

This event is truly a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I would really encourage everyone to come and watch the battle! You’ll be able to tour the ships, and there will be a lot of food and general lively atmosphere for the visitors. But for now, check out the video which features the Flagship Niagara!
